PLUS Partners with GUNKUL to Launch 1 MW Solar Rooftop Project, Driving Thailand’s Beverage Industry Toward Net Zero in a Tangible Way

Mr. Phonsaeng Saebe (third from left), Managing Director, and Mr. Kitti Wachirajirakorn (second from left), Deputy Managing Director of Royal Plus Public Company Limited (PLUS), together with Ms. Warinthip Rosarpitak (third from right), Chief Operating Officer – Energy Business Group and Investment Strategy, and Mr. Phairoj Panukarn (second from right), Senior Director of Project Management and Power Plant Maintenance of Gunkul Engineering Public Company Limited (GUNKUL), posed for a photo during the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Phase 2 of the Solar Rooftop installation project. The system, with a capacity of 999.57 kilowatt-peak (kWp), will be installed at PLUS’s factory in Amphawa District, Samut Songkhram Province. The ceremony was held at One City Centre, Bangkok, with executives from both companies joining as witnesses and extending their congratulations.

This collaboration marks another significant milestone for PLUS in advancing its transition toward clean energy adoption, aligning with the Company’s targets of achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2030 and Net Zero by 2050. The Solar Rooftop project will play a pivotal role in the continuous reduction of greenhouse gas emissions across the production process.

In addition to solar energy investment, PLUS is accelerating long-term infrastructure enhancements, including the transition to electric forklift fleets (EV forklifts) to boost operational efficiency, reduce noise and air emissions, and foster a safer working environment. PLUS is also advancing its adoption of biomass energy sources, such as palm kernel shells and alternative bio-fuels, to systematically replace fuel oil and strengthen its shift away from fossil-fuel dependency.

The partnership with GUNKUL—one of Thailand’s leading renewable energy companies—reflects both organizations’ shared vision of shaping a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future. This initiative is positioned to serve as a scalable industry model, reinforcing PLUS’s role in driving the Thai food and beverage manufacturing sector toward a low-carbon economy through green technologies and meaningful clean-energy innovation.
